Great laptop, but I've been getting burned by non-manufacturer refurbs. I bought two of the Surface Laptop 4s in the last deal. One came still managed by a grocery chain (persists through reformatting, requires users to have a specific domain name to continue), and the other emits a pungent chemical smell whenever the system fans turn on. I hope anyone buying this deal gets a laptop that's been decently reformatted and cleaned.

Looks like it is near the end of support for driver and firmware updates.

No. A flimsy plastic refurb acer with an N series cpu is e waste. This is aluminum build solid laptop. Plenty of processing power. This is more of a premium built laptop. Far far far from e waste

I'm thumbs downing this deal because the condition of the product can include dings, dents and scratches.
Yes the price is low but we've seen the 1165G7 model for just $10 - 20 more in the past in better condition, and the difference between 1165G7 and 1185G7 is basically nothing. I would never buy products from woot.com that have questionable condition.
I'm not sure if you're hinting to another SL4 with i7-1165G7, or other laptops. If it's the former, then that has not been $10-$20 more for a better condition. If it's the latter, then instead of just considering the processor and completely ignoring the other specs, try acknowledging them too when comparing with those other options for $10-20 more.
None of those come with as good of a display as this, almost all in this price come with 250-300 nits 45% NTSC. The build, sound, and keyboard quality of this beat anything in this price range. Additionally this has a 3:2 display which is the most preferred for productivity and office work; every other option is either 16:9 or 16:10, so not really comparable to begin with.
The only biggest drawback is the risky condition, that could either be good or pretty bad, and no such warranty. That should be the only valid point, not the specs.

I have this computer, it's small and slim and slight wedge design is nice. It's not very fast. Good for a basic Windows comp with 8GB (deal is 16GB so that's a +). if you run the debloater will make it run faser. The Hello Login is nice and I'd keep Windows on it instead of Linux and the screen is pretty decent. Even thought nits rating isn't that high, I feel it is brighter, probably because it's got a glass looking screen.

I was thinking about converting another small machine to Openclaw and this could be a good one to do.

But Macbook Neo brand new for $499 if you go the EDU route, no one should be buying any $500 Windows computer if they want something that just works.

Sub $500 windows will be under powered. although there are some nice discounts on Snapdragon since no one wants those things and they have decent power. or step up to $650+ for a used./refurb computer with RTX 5050/5060 8GB GPUs.

you're right, I stated 1165g7 here when actually previous deals were the 1065g7.
But I do stand buy the opinion that you should never buy questionable quality stuff from woot.

See this about the Surface Pro 4 screen. I don't know if this one has the same screen.

The Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are two different product lines.

This is decent but scratch and dent makes this no better than many refurb corporate laptops you can get with better specs.

I'd either do that or grab the MacBook Neo when it comes out on edu discount.

11th generation Intel CPU is not good. At least get 12th gen.
It would be more useful for me if you included your reasoning.

Walmart has a better deal if anyone is looking for a laptop, I just found it as well as this one in this post this morning around 6 am. I sent him both he's getting the one from Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/507288...roupCode=2

Well maybe not quite better as it's $120 more only real difference is storage 1tb if you need it.

I had the Framework 13 with 11th gen intel i5. I would not buy another 11th gen intel cpu. Ran hot, throttled, was super slow. YMMV

Return policy with Woot? Past experience not very good
I actually had a great return process with them. Told them the problem, they told me to keep the product and they refunded the item that same day. It was all through Amazon and I am a Prime member with a Prime credit card. Maybe those factors helped.

From what I saw at this link, this problem is affecting the Surface Pro 4, not the Surface Pro 4 LAPTOP.

What was the product/price of the product?
