Why is that staff posts are double posted?

A deal is posted by staff, then a "deal editor" posts the exact same thing right under the post. Most of the time, there is zero new information. It's just an annoying repeat.
Why is that?

When a deal gets enough votes to be moved to the front page a Deal Editor adds a post so that deals are easier to read and aren't missing any info. It is a little clunky, but it's good to heart that staff posts usually don't need much touching up. You could try out the Redesign View of the site, which hides the original post, though that has it's drawbacks too.
