If you use Android Auto wirelessly, avoid Razr. I've had 2 Razr (2023 and 2025) and both encountered issues where AA couldn't initiate unless I opened the main screen. It got resolved for 2023 but the issue came back when 2025 got updated to Android 16. Google (AA team) was no help. Still not fixed as of today.

Sold my Flip⁷ for this. 2 months in - no regrets... Outside screen is useless on Flip⁷ but totally awesome on this device. Cuts my doomscrolling by >50%

I've had the 2023 and now the 2025 (base)

In 2023 both my Dad and I bought them Oct of 2023. Mine lasted a year, got a line through the screen then a week later crapped out. Moto replaced it. Dad's had a similar issue a few months later and moto still covered it (their records showed more warranty than he had). He carried it for another year and it went stone dead all of a sudden (no lights, no charging).

I've had the 2025 since June and so far it's been good. Way cheaper than the Samsung side of things and does about the same thing.

To those concerned about security patches, I'd like to ask if you keep your phone past 2 years?

I had my razr 2023 inner screen protector replaced right before 1 year warranty expired. it seems that inner screen replacement is expected on those flip phones, now I keep reminding myself to flip less.
i'll likely get a new flip phone after security updates stop next year, it'll be interesting to see if Samsung's new 'no crease' screen solves the inner screen protector durability problem

There are three different models of RAZR, the base model with a cheaper processor, and the RAZR+ and Ultra which should be a pretty major step up in speed.

It was open box plus model 2024, fair, good and mint, from $169-$229. Accrually I bought one but didn't work (sim can't be recognize) I waited too long to get another. Returned with no problem.

does the 2025 inner screen seem more durable from folding?

I have the 2024 version of this phone I gifted to my "clumsy" son. He's about 2 months in and about 7 or 8 drops, so far so good. Make sure you keep it cased up and have an outter screen protector in place. The phone is super responsive, very snappy, and easily scroll from app to app without lag. The 2025 version is even faster. I think this is an excellent buy at this price point.

Really hard to tell TBH. After they replaced mine under warranty a guy from the states that actually worked for Moto called me and we chatted for a good 20 minutes about Moto stuff. He said that they had addressed the hinge and strengthened it. I don't know if I believe it one way or another. A good place to look would be Amazon reviews. Because I feel that when I looked about a year ago on the 2023 there were a lot of people who mentioned this. I haven't looked at the 2025.

I love these flip phones, but my z flip 4 failed on me out of nowhere years ago and I babied that phone. I think I'll let them continue ironing out some more durability issues before I try another one. And my s24 is still going strong for a good two years now.

I got one of those too. I bought the "excellent" condition and when I received it, it had drop damage in the corner (chipped)...had to return mine too lol

It's too bad because the specs for the 2024 and this 2025 is exactly identical but it was $180 cheaper.

Yup, my was excellent too, worked fine on wifi but couldn't recognize the sim. Did couple resets but nope, should of get another while messing with first one.

I got an excellent one from the Best Buy open box deal on the 2024 plus. It works flawlessly and looks brand new. Got lucky I guess.
