I believe the insinuation is you will get Alzheimer's from the aluminum. Which I believe is a read across from the belief you get Alzheimer's from the aluminum in deodorant. Which I also believe is largely unfounded.

Oh yes, aluminum is really bad for you. I actually did not realize that's what he was talking about. I was thinking he was talking about coffee lol

I picked this up last time it was on sale. It's a cool smaller coffee maker and the coffee came out strong. It was fun to brew with it, too.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a non-aluminum version of this?

Yea conspiracy theorists believe that anything with aluminum is causing Alzheimer's – foil, cookware, deodorant, soda cans, etc. What scientists have discovered is actually the opposite. It's the Alzheimer's that causing aluminum, as well as other metals like iron, copper, zinc, to accumulate in the brain. Those other metals get overlooked because our bodies need them to function properly, but not aluminum. Because it's not part of our biology it's seen as the cause even though every living thing already has aluminum in them because it's everywhere in the air, soil, water, plants. Aluminum is the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust. All foods and animals have some amount of aluminum. The animals that eat the plants and the animals that eat the animals that eat plants.
Moral of the story: science is important

I paid $5.49 for this in March 2020. 6 years later, this price isn't bad. However, mine just collects dust in my cabinet. Every few months I break it out and soon remember how annoyingly fiddly it is to get a decent cup of coffee out of it, and it goes back in the cabinet and the cycle repeats.

Got mine for $5.50 about 6 years ago. Once i figured out how to use it, i love the coffee i get from it. Stronger than drip brew, not as concentrated as a shot of espresso.

yup. aluminum in deodorant does not permeate through the skin.
