This one uses a rope, I recommend using the ones with the strap as it winds up evenly when doing the exercise.

I bought this a month ago and actually find it to be pretty solid for gaining wrist strength. Would recommend for this price.

Used something similar for physical therapy. It was just a PVC pipe with a rope wrapped around it. At the end of the rope, there's just a loop that you put around a small weight.

Can anyone confirm, if you get your forearm/grip strength up enough, and you stand on the weight, could you use this slowly levitate upward? Like maybe you could use this as a way to get onto the roof of your house if you don't have ladder handy.

You can DIY with some cheap rope, a dumbbell handle or pvc pipe, and any dumbell. I started with 5lb, went up to 8lb then 10lb, it kills the forearms after a few sets! Go over or under to hit diff muscles.

I have both and I prefer the PVC pipe. The diameter of the pipe is slightly more and it seems to work better for me.

Not a bad price for what you get. I feel like a lot of people are gonna buy it and never use it though.
