I think the main difference is the G2 has longer wifi range, but yes this is the better model. I got the P2 previously for baking, but can't resist getting this one for the grill and sous vide.

Just used these today on my dino ribs. These things are amazing!!! I don't like the "smart" mode on the app so make sure you switch it to "manual" mode, but these are super accurate
$90 is normal price.
I'm grabbing a set for my sourdough baking. Has a cheaper BT set that wasn't accurate. Accuracy is important, and though I have no hands on experience 1900+ reviews works for me
