My kids have the version that does up to 16 mph (350w I believe). As an adult, it's moving...can't imaging 22mph. That said, they charge them very little and they're always on them. The Aovo app has the ability to speed restrict them. The braking system (just rear disc) was a bit taxed with me on it (240#) at speed. But they've been a good investment and seem to be good quality units going on two years now.

I was at Costco today and they had the Phantom A10 with 400W motor, no suspension, and a max speed of 15.5 mph for $399.99. This AOVOPRO is a really good value.

Thanks for posting OP!

Every scooter and ebike thread..so many Karens and safety team goofballs come out of the woodwork, concerned over your safety is always so amusing.... Some of you need to touch grass and lighten up a bit!

In 2000 my barber's head touched grass during the original Razor scooter craze. And by grass, I mean asphalt. Permanently "altered"

Betweent the lack of gyroscopic stability from larger wheels to their inability to handle large gravel chunks, I think it's worthwhile for some safety rehashing in each thread, especially for the noobs.

Understood, thank you sir. I weigh ~145 pounds, so even with 5-6 pounds of groceries, I think I'll be good with this one (and a helmet!).

The only other part I'm thinking through (since I've never had a scooter) is if there are any preferred lock types for e-scooters vs regular bicycles? Meaning, when parking at the grocery store on a bike rack (which I'm assuming the grocery stores will have, haven't looked for them per se). I was thinking of something like the below which has 4 feet of give on the cable, or a non-combo pure steel one like the second below.

I never have to lock mine up publicly. The u-lock would be preferable, but the other lock could work so long as you loop it tight against whatever you're locking against since the scooter could potentially be wiggled free if it's too loose.

I've put a lot of mileage on my bikes (~17,000mi) and my scooters (~3000mi) and have wrecked on both multiple times. You usually crash less awkwardly on scooters since you're basically going down from a standing position, but if you ride enough of either, you will eventually go down and slam your head on the pavement as I have done both ways. But for a helmet, I would either be dead or similarly permanently impaired instead of riding off with a few scrapes. If you ride enough, the law of averages always wins. Wear a helmet. Always.

I see these all the time, especially at schools, that never have any locks on them. Traditional bikes, sure, but aren't e-bikes/e-scooters mostly secure as far as riding away it with? I guess someone can part it out?

At my house, we have a pretty big hill. The scooters seem to do pretty well (not crazy fast) but the bikes are just too fast going down this hill. I am not a "karen" here. I worry that the children riding that fast just don't have the experience of what to do if a cat darts into the street. Yes, we have one "neighborhood" cat who seems to enjoy bothering the dogs who are inside.

Good times all the way around.

Was looking at an electric unicycle which was already on sale and had a PayPal $30 off. It was applied at checkout and I tried to add USAS60 for another $60 off, but it wouldn't take. Then the PayPal $30 disappeared and clearing the cart or restarting the app didn't bring it back.

Weird. Would have pulled the trigger otherwise.
I tried the unicycle inmotion in CES. The guy says it will take a few days to get used to but it was too hard for me to balance it. Have that in mind.

I've had two unicycles in the past. It does take some getting used to, but if you can ride a bike, you can find your balance in an hour or two. Much more compact than a scooter and you have your hands free. Highly recommend it. I kept it in the trunk and pulled it out whenever I parked too far and needed to do a quick run.

I am glad you already had some experiences. It looks definitely more portable and small. I got this scooter a few months ago. everything was good but it is too big, bulky and heavy. I guess I should learn unicycle then. thanks for sharing!
