Keep in mind that each capsule only has 90mg of elemental magnesium, which is the magnesium your body actually absorbs. The 500mg on the label is a bit misleading.

All that said, I take a couple of these before bed and haven't noticed any ill side effects. I do think they help with better sleep.

Yeah, 90mg is not bad. It just has a lot of filler. The filler the body can't digest and you just poop it out.

At 90mg per pill, you'd need at least 4 pills just to get to the recommended daily value of 400mg

I take one per ay that has 150mg of elemental magnesium & 500mg of Glycinate. is that considered good or should I look for more?

It is confusing, my Dr said to take 400 mg a day and I didn't know for a year this is what it meant. I was basing it off the headline mg and was getting less than 90mg.

Switching to 400mg a day or so helped me

This brand should be avoided. There's a reason it's so cheap. This brand, including this magnesium glycinate, tests VERY POORLY. They lie about the supplement content, use shady "3rd party" testing (not NSF, etc, but shady companies they pay off) and often contain dangerous levels of toxic heavy metals. NOW has tested them multiple times, and they always score among the worst. You can also plug the supplement you're curious about into supp.co if you're ever curious about the safety or trustworthiness of a supplement.

If you click on "magnesium glycinate", you can scroll down to the the Naturebell test. It only had 50-60mg of total magnesium and only about 40mg of soluble magnesium (what the body can actually use). So, it has less than half the magnesium that they advertise.
supp.co is the best resource to use, though. You can search for the specific supplement you're planning on buying there.

They constantly send their supplements and competitors supplements out for independent testing. They don't test them themselves. Regardless, that's why I mentioned using the site supp.co in my previous comment. If you look this brand up there, it also repeatedly tests among the worst of supplement brands.

Damn, all this time I thought I was getting 500mg only to realize it's only 90mg? Wtf. Should have just stuck with the Costco one (240mg per serving).
