All you need to do is leave the disposal switch on, add second switch under sink for disposal. I did this with a power cord with built in switch and simply plugged in the disposal. Now I use the outlet under sink for under cabinet hue light strips and just open the sink door and use the switch on the cord that I used zipties to mount right under the top of the cabinet.
It's not anti-Chinese when there's plenty of documented cases of companies are harming people through deception and when the hammer falls the laws can't reach them. It's just called caution and has existed long before this administration. You do, you.
In a situation where it is a standard double outlet and one is on a switch for the disposal and the other is constant-on for the dishwasher — do you think one could split the always-on between the dishwasher and this? (I can only assume it would violate code, but just asking for a friend)

I don't know all the vocabulary associated with this kind of stuff yet, mostly because I haven't entered the 'seriously considering' stage - but can someone explain it like I'm 5? Especially since the newer version is cheaper even including the OP's promo for the older model. (Where do these people find these super secret promo codes? Is witchcraft involved?)

Also, I highly recommend a sodastream (or similar device) to help reduce soda drinking. You can reduce the syrup amount and over time drink more and more water. Sparkling water is also delicious. I'm now working towards reducing sparkling water (as it's bad for your teeth as well).
If you actually want RO, you're better off with the normal RO systems with the tank, and have it under sink. If you can't do that because of renting or not wanting to mess with plumbing, better off just forgoing RO and just use a Brita.

Lets say your's is hard wired... you would hire an electrician who will put a socket in your wall and use the existing wire to power the socket...then you should have two places to plug in like any other wall socket. Point is you don't have to run a new wire from your electrical box.
I can personally do this myself (not very hard) and I am no electrician.
... if you already have a waste disposal, it should be EASY to install this.
