They are. one of them is liek $40 and another i believe is $95. The good news? I haven't replace a filter and my unit still spits out 12 TDS/PPM water. so unless you're using an insane amount of water, i think the filters will last you awhile. When i installed my unit, I put a $20 inline TDS meter so i can see what it's spitting out. Here [amazon.com].

Regular RO filters simply use water pressure to operate.

I hooked up my samsung fridge to city water. During summer, I smell and taste algae in the water. Apparently the tiny carbon filter in the fridge is not removing the organic material. Would this help?

Tempted, but the only power under my sink is for the disposal. Needing an active plug under the sink kills it for me.

All you need to do is leave the disposal switch on, add second switch under sink for disposal. I did this with a power cord with built in switch and simply plugged in the disposal. Now I use the outlet under sink for under cabinet hue light strips and just open the sink door and use the switch on the cord that I used zipties to mount right under the top of the cabinet.

What's the point? DJI is a Chinese company, you think they don't make good drones? Roborock is a Chinese company, you don't think they make good robot vacuums? Don't fall for the anti-Chinese Washington machine.
If you don't care, you don't care.
It's not anti-Chinese when there's plenty of documented cases of companies are harming people through deception and when the hammer falls the laws can't reach them. It's just called caution and has existed long before this administration. You do, you.

If a common double outlet, often the switch only controls one of the outlets..be sure to test.

In a situation where it is a standard double outlet and one is on a switch for the disposal and the other is constant-on for the dishwasher — do you think one could split the always-on between the dishwasher and this? (I can only assume it would violate code, but just asking for a friend)

I'll admit that I am completely uneducated about water filter systems for the home - I've just been using Brita forever like a plebian. It has been something I've been thinking about wanting to look into recently though since I'm going to stop drinking sodas all together (ha.. truly.. totally..) anyhoo.. There's this one that drops to $187 with the promo code listed, but on the product page near the bottom it says there's a newer version of this product for $169.99

I don't know all the vocabulary associated with this kind of stuff yet, mostly because I haven't entered the 'seriously considering' stage - but can someone explain it like I'm 5? Especially since the newer version is cheaper even including the OP's promo for the older model. (Where do these people find these super secret promo codes? Is witchcraft involved?)

I learned a lot having a conversation with Copilot. I'd highly suggest trying AI.

Also, I highly recommend a sodastream (or similar device) to help reduce soda drinking. You can reduce the syrup amount and over time drink more and more water. Sparkling water is also delicious. I'm now working towards reducing sparkling water (as it's bad for your teeth as well).

Put an under sink Filtrete system under it. It's like $60 on Amazon for the advanced filter and install kit which took care of any of my water taste issues. I bypassed the refrigerator filter and just put the hose on a T to the filter. One to the fridge, one to the sink drinking water dispenser.

If you actually want RO, you're better off with the normal RO systems with the tank, and have it under sink. If you can't do that because of renting or not wanting to mess with plumbing, better off just forgoing RO and just use a Brita.

These comments are so funny when theres case after case of American companies routinely deceiving & endangering American consumers. The best part & is when they pay settlement to absolve themselves of what they've done & admit no wrongdoing. Those fines are built into their bottom line, which is why they'll never change. Keep worrying about big bad China tho lol

Anyone know how to drill hole in granite countertop to install water dispenser? What tools needed and can first time driller will able to do it?
https://www.amazon.com/Kraus-Kitc...08BBF9F7B/ is so much better than additional hole. I've been using this faucet with this filter since 2022 and I'm very happy.

So Disposal's are either hard wired into the wall or you plug it into a socket.

Lets say your's is hard wired... you would hire an electrician who will put a socket in your wall and use the existing wire to power the socket...then you should have two places to plug in like any other wall socket. Point is you don't have to run a new wire from your electrical box.

I can personally do this myself (not very hard) and I am no electrician.

... if you already have a waste disposal, it should be EASY to install this.

This is insane. Just buy the dispenser for like $25 on amazon and use a 5 year in line filter... JFC.

They sell a push button air switch that you can plug into the same outlet you want to use, but it will run a button where every you want that will activate the garbage disposal.

Maybe next time I'll just ask the 5 year old to explain these water filters to me like I'm 5, because that answer was almost like saying "hey... google it dumb face" (Co Pilot and all its iterations are blocked from my machine because reasons and I don't see myself undoing that for this, maybe I'll just drink lead water for life instead. That seems faster.)

The video for this air switch shows it connecting to an outlet under the sink. So how would this help someone that doesn't have an outlet under the sink?
