If you don't absolutely need the camera system of the Pro (better zoom in and zoom out), there's really little reason to not go for this. The battery life is awesome for its thinness, it's comparable to previous years' Pro iPhones. The feel in hand is amazing, and amazing to look at. It really feels special. Also keep in mind there's only one speaker which is at the top, and the sound is not as loud as recent iPhones, but it's decent. So really the only drawbacks are the speaker and cameras. It's practically a Pro iPhone in most ways, just way thinner and lighter.

"For it's thinness" isn't a necessary qualifier. I've turned off auto-lock and just leave mine on, on my desk, all day. I launch apps I'm working on to it, etc. It's definitely an underappreciated device, but cell carriers offering "free" Pros and not even fully subsidizing this has a lot to do with it's "failure"
The Pros are YoY the best selling devices, and why not, who would take a lesser phone for "free" with the same 2+ year commitments.
The one thing I don't like about it that no one talks about -- the USB-C port is sharp, and that kinda sucks if you rest it on your finger to hold/balance the phone
