Anybody considering this likely has a quality set of wired IEMs or headphones that they want to use with their phone. In which case, I CANNOT recommend enough that you look into a buying USB-C DAC instead of this dumb wire.

You have no idea how much a DAC will change your music listening experience...

this is a USB-C DAC... look at the 6th picture
possibly a very low quality one, but still a DAC.

There must be a DAC in this for it to even work. The quality though, is unknown.
