Bosch's Glide miter saw stands out for its compact axial glide design, smooth cut feel, and strong reputation for shop use, especially where back clearance and storage space matter. The saw is described as a joy to use, with long term durability and a premium feel, and the 12 inch size is favored at this price for those wanting more capacity. The main drawback is the lack of a built in laser or shadow line, and a few precision focused comments flag table wing height and blade alignment concerns for furniture work. A solid fit when space savings and corded convenience matter more than extra visibility features.

Common Questions (5)

  • No built-in laser or shadow line is included. A laser can be added for about $20, but precision cuts may still be better handled by drawing a pencil line and lowering the blade to test fit before cutting.

  • Yes. Buyers reported successful Home Depot price matches through chat or phone, sometimes with extra cash back, and the saw could be shipped to a nearby store for pickup when local stock was unavailable.

  • Yes, the axial-glide design saves a lot of depth because it needs much less rear clearance than a traditional slider. That makes it a strong fit for a garage or permanent bench setup, while a DeWalt-style slider can be easier if you wheel the saw outside for cuts.

  • It can work well in a fixed garage setup and is praised for smooth use and space savings, but one report says the table wings sit slightly below the surface and the blade alignment may be off enough to matter for furniture-grade cuts. That makes it better suited to general carpentry than precision joinery if those issues are present on your unit.

  • Not ideally. Table saw blades usually use a higher hook angle to hold material down, while miter saw blades use a lower or negative hook angle, so sharing blades between the two tools is uncommon.

I bought this. I've got a 36v 10" Makita that I love from a looks perspective but I want to go back to corded. Love the slide design on the Bosch. Have always wanted one. Now I have one.

Just brought it home from Lowes. I really wanted to like it but it would have to go back. The wings of the table are about 1/64 below the surface of the table which means you cannot clamp anything to the wings. I thought about sticking some psa backed sandpaper to the wings to make everything level and get a nice grip for the clamp (other than that this issue cannot be solved short of milling down the table surface). This alone wouldn't make me want to return it but the second problem is worse: the blade is at a slight angle to the direction of pull, about 1/50" variation from edge to edge. This means on long cuts the cut edge of the piece would contact the blade disk. There are no adjustments to fix this. Worse yet, setting blade at 90 deg to the fence would mean the actual cut is about 0.1 deg off. May be ok for rough carpentry but not for furniture building. Boy, the thing looks so slick though... And the price was great. Oh well.
Also, it is still $449 at a local Lowes (in TN) and they still have one for sale.

i am jealous of those who are getting this one now. I bought a 10" model last year. The best miter saw ever.

Any "deal" for Lowe's is always a scam. Just clickbait.

Care to elaborate? I am not being sarcastic, just trying to learn something new. I thought I got several deals from Lowes and if this saw were well made, this would be a deal for me as well (then again, it may have been my bad luck, others may have gotten a fine tool at this price). What makes them a scam? Price not good? Returned items they resold as new?

I just returned mine too, didn't even open the box. I should have read that it weighs 65lbs, my current 12" sliding Bosch miter is 45lbs and it already a beast to move around. If anyone around Rancho Cucamonga, CA is looking for one, just returned it unopened today.

I can understand that logic. Not really sure why someone would thumb down your comment tho. Bizarre
I didn't thumbs down but I guess someone could because you shouldn't use the same blade from table saw in miter saw and vice versa

If any of you have not yet unboxed your saw, I suggest you do so within the return period. I just unboxed mine and one of the glide arms was cracked right at a ball bearing point luckily for me my store had one left in top stock and was able to exchange it for me.
