I've used this protein powder for several years and I don't have an issue with the chocolate flavor. Let's not kid ourselves and pretend that all the protein shakes need to taste like 1000 calorie milkshakes. This is something where I put 7 ounces of water or so in shaker with a few ice cubes and it takes me like five seconds to drink it. So I'm not tasting it that long.

For me this stuff was one of the worst tasting powder based shakes I have ever had. I can't describe the taste other than nasty

Sucralose HARD PASS
Yeah artificial sweetners like sucralose (Splenda) are terrible. Sucralose is even worse than Ace K which is also typically found in flavored protein powders

Edit : this also has Ace K. They list it as "Salt Acesulfame"

FYI: was $50 around Jan 2026. Vanilla ice cream taste really good. Is this better than Ascent?

That's not inflation. That's just called corporate greed. inflation can contribute but only about 3 to 4%ish.

Inflation is a continued increase in prices of goods and services in the broader economy over time. That, compared to jacking up the price on a product online vs. in-store or the same product having a notably higher price outpacing the inflation rate just 4 months later, which is just greed.

I'm tired of buying crappy vanilla flavors, trying to find a good one. Although this one seems to get good reviews, so I wonder if I should try it. Any thoughts on the vanilla flavor?
Naked Whey vanilla tastes good and doesn't have all the junk in it that this has.

The Ascent Vanilla Bean Costco deal is valid till May 3. I'll be picking up that - $39 for 62 servings is pretty good.

On a $/g protein, Ascent is cheaper than this deal.
Both are Protein blends though.
