Click on the warehouse on the bottom of your app. Then click that you want to shop your warehouse.

I'm able to easily see that my warehouse doesn't carry most weights and that I'd need to order it online.

It's warren oil, the same people who make supertech. I'm thinking if you are changing every 5000 miles (especially given that it's so cheap to do so with this), it'll be no issues. But obviously, ymmv

Interestingly, from I can see, it's $30 for 2x 5qt in-store so online is actually cheaper. I really like that the Costco app lets you check in-store inventory and prices now.

Do these have expiration / best use by date? If not, what's the general shelf life?

My costco membership expired but seems I can still order with a 5% surcharge, not bad.

My club is charging $30 for a 2 pack. Worthwhile checking in club before pulling the online trigger because it *has* been cheaper in club in the past.

There isn't a hard and fast number here but it's on the order of years if left sealed and not stored baking in the heat.

Oddly, I'm in San Diego area with lots of Costco's and none of the ones I checked with the app show ANY results for "motor oil". I wonder if they blocked results or the warehouses really stopped carrying motor oil (doubtful)?
Search for "synthetic". Costco's app searching isn't great.

Thank you!!!! How long does an unopened bottle last? (Sorry I'm new to home ownership)
Maybe a million or so years give or take.

Also, people are posting about oil prices being high, I've never really noticed a significant price difference in motor oil when crude was expensive. I don't think it necessarily correlates.

It's even cheaper online than in the store. Great deal. Definitely in for one.

Good oil, has been reviewed many times by various YT'ers and actual studies.

If you're on SD, this oil is PLENTY GOOD ENOUGH for you.

$53.99 4x 5qt bottles Online price with free shipping
$29.99 2x 5qt bottles In-store price

So yes cheaper if ordered online, but you'll nee to get 4x 5qt bottles.

If stored properly (room temp) unopened bottles will last for 5-8 years.
But in a garage like mine that gets down to 30F during winter, 120F during summer (typical is more like 50-100 min/max)... I wouldn't go past a year/

I have three cars getting about 10k/yr each, so I'll go through this no problem in under 2yrs... in for 8 bottles

Several years ago my friend who lives in San Diego said that it was illegal to change your own oil in the city because too many people were pouring the used oil down the drains. Don't know if that's still true today, or if he made it up back then. Your comment made me think of it, LOL.

The consensus seems to be 5 years. Oil is fine but the additives may start to break down.

Most manufacturers say 5 years of shelf life under normal conditions (cool and dry)

my 2025 Sienna oil are extremely black after 5k, even though Its recommended 10k, so I did it myself anyway every 5k.
Color of the oil is not a reliable indicator of wear. It'll look black after 1000 miles. The only way to know for sure is to send a sample to the lab. Chances are, if you use full synthetic oil, it's fine for 10-15K miles.
