Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

How many lines did you open up for 5 trade-ins?
5 I am new to Spectrum mobile. Have had Internet with them on and off--as they raised the price I switched and went with Verizon Fios.

Is it confirmed that if we are forced into a 36-month payment plan at the store, we can pay it off in full by contacting customer service once we get home and then have the credits refunded to our card?
I paid all of mine off in store. The 700 and 400 pretty much covers S26+ other then activation fee and taxes.

If you know someone who has Spectrum--they could add you to their account and you can go into store and order a phone and put it on their account. I think you have to call in to get them on your account. I did that very successfully for my daughter who does have Spectrum but was unable to get to a store.

The salesperson was shocked and called over the store manager, who stated that he had contacted upper management and claimed he would lose his job if he processed a full payment; he insisted that only the 36-month payment plan was permitted.
My salesperson was stoked and asked me where I got the cheep moto. Pretty sure everyone he knows is about to come in and get a free phone. I got a Plus and a Ultra this morning.

Damn, my honest mouth. Walked into a store with an appointment and a very nice and friendly employee greeted me, and I started with "hi, I'd like to trade my new s26+ for an Ultra ". Guess what , they are sold out.

Also, asked if old phones with cracked screen is accepted, and the answer was very friendly "no, we do not trade cracked screens, phone was to be in good condition "
This morning after confirming on the website that a cracked screen on pos Moto 5G 2025 was worth $3 in trade in. I got $5. There system has to say it. Don't let the salesperson. But of course they have to put it in but you can show them since you can check on the website yourself.

Just an FYI if you live in Clermont, FL area:
I checked everything online before going to the Spectrum store and the phone (I have and old Pixel 5A with a cracked screen but everything still worked) was accepted online ($3 plus the $400). When I went to the Spectrum store, the guys said that he couldn't give me the phone at the store. I have to order it online (He could have done it there for me but I rather order it myself at home) and then I have to ship my old phone to Spectrum because he couldn't accept a phone with a cracked screen, even thought it was accepted online. I was hoping to save on taxes but I guess not. I ended up paying $984.49 with tax. So, if you don't have a phone that is In perfect condition, you won't get the automatic discount at the store.

My moto trade ins were failing the mirror test also in store. I asked him if all the scratches on his mirror were causing it. He cleaned the mirror and then it passed and did the trade in.

Which phone did you get? Are you able to send me a link ?
I'm not sure what you are asking. I got an S26+. If you're asking what phone I got to trade in, do a search in this thread for Moto or Walmart. I've seen the link several times.

That happened with my S24 Ultra today. He tried so many things, updates, etc., and nothing. After he reset it a second time, it went through without a hitch.

Spectrum stores and reps are hit or miss. I traded in an iPhone with the screen shattered and the camera lenses broken and got the $700 off instantly.

Did similar. Some people were able to get both unlocked doing it that way after the 60 days. Others had to put the s26 back on the line and wait an additonal 60 days.
Quote from wealthisachoice :
Is the phone unlocked? Verizon changed phones to unlock after a year vs the 60 days so not sure what Spectrum is doing because they are a reseller of Verizon.

Phones that are paid in full should be unlocked but I'd still be concerned about this.
Quote from bhavins74 :
Nope. it will unlock after 60 days of service.
Got the phones on the one line. Can I just move them back on to unlock after 60 days? How does the spectrum timer work? Any data points?
