Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

2 per account for how long? I just opened up 2 lines today both with trade ins and with new home internet but need a 3rd line for my son. The 3rd line/trade in would not go thru, manager told me to come back in a few hours and it should work. Said fraud protection, I'm brand new to Spectrum. But he said they could order the phone for me, I should have asked if they could process the trade in in store still but order the phone for delivery??
No, thats risky, do not order from store you will not get the instant credits

UPDATE:

Just came back from a local store. A very nice lady tried her best helping to trade my new S26+ for an Ultra on a new line. At the final checkout page, the $700 credit disappeared. She consulted with her senior/colleague, who in turn went to the back to consult with her manager, and comes back to tell me that I've have a bit too many trades with the $700 credit for each of them. So now Spectrum is limiting such trades, doesn't matter if it's on an existing line or a new line.

this was my final attempt for this year. I'll be keeping the 2 new S26+ in my drawer, and hopefully they'll unlock after two months. If not, I'll have to wait for my Ultra to unlock on current line, and once that's unlocked, will be moving the esim to S26+ until it unlocks, and repeat for the second S26+.

You ever call to try to have it lifted? Supposedly mine was "lifted" but I still think it won't checkout. I'll try again tomorrow
I spoken with Spectrum Fraud multiple time during the S24 series, still gets banned from instore trade in after a few trade ins. I don't think there's such a thing as lifting the instore ban. Now I just open account under family member's name, and do most trade in online.

So the new rule for capping at 2 per account in-store trade-ins is true. No wonder I got denied at the last step of submitting order and the system said fraud protection. This is only for in-store traded-in, you shouldn't have the problem if do it online.
I did 4 in store trade in's today, 3 of those were on new lines though.

Oh man then I have no idea...All I know that I was banned on in-store trade-in from now on and hopefully they allow me to do it again next year. Last year I was banned after 3 or 4 trade-in in-store, then this year after 5 trade-in in-store. Looks to me they reset the ban counter for each year; otherwise I wouldn't traded in for 5 times successfully for this year.

No, they only tightened up the rule on in-store trade-in. For online, you can do as many as you want. Even today after the system denied me in-store, the rep offered me online trade-in, but I refused.
Thank you, I was replying to a comment about buying in-store not online.

When you activated the device on new line, that line needs to be active until your phone gets unlocked. Do not mess up. It is good to pay another $60 on the new line for 3 months as spectrum needs 60 days of active service which will technically bill us for the 3 month. Also, if anyone trying to add a new line from now, try checking the $30/m unlimited plan if there is any activation fee. $20 by the gig as per the solution specialist, attracts the one-time activation fee.

Appreciate that. Good to know that the $30 plan may wave the activation fee, it also seems that the reps make more if you get the $30 plan. Will keep the 2nd line till the phone on that line it unlocks. My first line originally had an s26 and now has an ultra. Since I got the s26 first am debating if I should move it back to the line when the 60 days are up and try to unlock it or unlock the ultra first and then move the s26 back. I am in no hurry to unlock. Have to say physical sims make it very easy to switch phones. When I do cancel the second line I am wondering if my first free line will be free again. When you have a single free line the monthly fee is $40 and you get a $40 credit every month. When you have 2 lines, the first line is $30 per month. Now that line shows as $30 and only a $30 credit every month. Hopefully it will go back to being free not $10 per month.

Only the free line get activation fee waived.
$20 or $30 plan has activation fee that cannot be waived.

I am looking add 4 lines online with tradein. Is better to order each separately or all 4 on single order, mainly if there are issues in trade in credit or track them.

Folks, I am trying to trade in my s26+ 512 GB, it should 700 + 550 but the assurant tracking page shows only 550. it does not show 700. anyone else in the same boat?
For my another line trade in, I am doing moto that gave $700 + $5 and assurant tracking correctly shows 5 and promotion offer 700. So am worried if I should proceed with s26+ trade in or not

If you do it in store then all 4 at once (up to 20). I highly doubt that you can find a store with 4 in stock now though.

Does anyone know if i can trade in an s26 from a separate mobile carrier that I'm still receiving bill credits on? Do you think the other carrier would somehow find out and remove my promotional credits?
