No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

you sure it's 30 days and not 60 days?
I said 30 and they even gave me the specific day in May to unlock it.

Not sure why they would 'confirm' that, as it's never been 30 days and the system won't allow the unlock. It's 60 days active on the Spectrum network.
I will see when I try to unlock it in 30 days. You can also chat with a Spectrum rep to see if they say 30 or 60.

Just came from Spectrum Noho West. At first said no S26u in stock and that I can buy it there, and they'll mail me S26u, and I do the return process via mail. I said I might as well just do it all online and started to walk away. Then says they might have something in stock (they work by commission) and "found" a s26u. Starts the process.. gave them the moto g 2025 from Walmart... tells me the out of pocket with taxes is like $156. I'm thinking it should be a little over $300 something if it took the $700 trade in + $400 discount + taxes but charged me $156. I said sure! but then saw on the receipt that the remaining difference is spread out the 3 years. I said.. umm.. nope. Need to pay the whole thing now, please. Proceeds to tell me that the only way to get both the trade-in credit and $400 off is through spreading the remaining payments in three years. I said nope.. refund me what I paid. Give me my Moto G 2025 back and I'll buy it online instead. I remember he was mumbling the whole time while processing in the trade-in.. like scanning the QR.. using a mirror to take pics of the w/ the moto G's camera etc. That's when I figured out the whole commission thing, that they'd rather say they don't have stock, get commission to sell it to you by doing the order through the store, hoping you'd just send in the trade-in phone so they don't have to do a trade-in at the store. I was there for more than an hour. Hoping this doesn't ruin me trying to do it online since they punched in the IMEI of the Moto G as a trade in. I might just stick w/ my S24u if nothing works out. Props to others where it worked in-store.
I was at NOHO West in Laurel Canyon yesterday afternoon around 5pm and was able to get S26U tradein with my old ipad 8 10.2" Tradein value $10 +$700, I paid in full with the total amount of $340 coz I have to pay tax $130.75 + $20 activation code. I was able to get activation code waive $20 via phone CS. The person who assisted me was a female. Is the guy who helped you looks like with the hairstyle of Elvis Presley?: lol. did they mentioned they do not have anymore?

Thanks for your reply but I think you missed the context of the person I responded.
True, missed the original post. This is my understanding - 1) Deal is valid only until 21st April 2) Would suggest you get second line now itself and pay $30 per month for 2-3months, get it unlocked and close 2nd line

Has anyone here tried upgrading from S26 to S26 Ultra using a trade-in?
Heres the situation:
  • I recently got the S26 through a promo trade-in.
  • The number is currently on a physical SIM tied to the S26.
  • I moved that SIM to a Samsung S23, so now the line shows as active on the S23 instead of the S26.
Given that setup, do you think it's still possible to trade in the S26 for an S26 Ultra by adding a new line? Or would the system flag it since the original line is associated with the S26?
Would appreciate any insight from anyone who's done something similar.

Do I need to keep mobile service for two months in order for me to unlock the phone or just spectrum internet is enough?

One thing I've learned when dealing with customer service reps (even Spectrum ones) is that they aren't always correct. Not on chat and not on the phone. I've gotten misinformation from them so many times, it's unreal. Unless the reps have the power to manually override, the letter of the written policy should supersede anything they tell you. https://www.spectrum.net/support/...ile-device

Why don't you try yourself. Someone did manage to trade that way but not sure if that was the reason he successfully traded s26 series phone. I tried to trade in S26 first, didn't go through, then tried Samsung A16, that was also unsuccessful. I finally managed to trade in A16 on a new line only not on the same line.

Just went to spectrum in southwest Austin. Very easy process. Bought the straight talk moto g 2025 from Walmart. Went to spectrum told them I wanted the s25 ultra. They did their checks with the mirror test. Ran it through the system. Total came to 214 plus 50 dollar tax. HOT DEAL

Your response is aligned with what I am also thinking. I am not really in the need for another new phone, but was wondering about the same, when this question was posted by the OP.

So I would really appreciate some help and insight as my s23 ultra died on me today and went into boot loop. I went ahead and ordered the Moto 5G 2025 Verizon version from Amazon since it would come quicker then the total wireless one from Walmart. Will that still work and I assume that I should open it or can I bring it in in the box? I plan to do this in store. The other question is since my other phone isn't working and I'm currently on T-Mobile but it's a family plan should I port my number over to spectrum and then wait the 60 days to have it unlocked and go back to T-Mobile or should I have them assign me a number and just wait until it's unlocked? Also there is some mention that you get a free year of service if that's the case how do I go about asking for that. There's 115 pages on the other thread in 20 something on here I'm trying to go through them all but I'm really in a bind since my phone broke so if somebody could walk me through this or even private message me I would really really really appreciate it. 🙏
Take it out of box.
