No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

So I would really appreciate some help and insight as my s23 ultra died on me today and went into boot loop. I went ahead and ordered the Moto 5G 2025 Verizon version from Amazon since it would come quicker then the total wireless one from Walmart. Will that still work and I assume that I should open it or can I bring it in in the box? I plan to do this in store. The other question is since my other phone isn't working and I'm currently on T-Mobile but it's a family plan should I port my number over to spectrum and then wait the 60 days to have it unlocked and go back to T-Mobile or should I have them assign me a number and just wait until it's unlocked? Also there is some mention that you get a free year of service if that's the case how do I go about asking for that. There's 115 pages on the other thread in 20 something on here I'm trying to go through them all but I'm really in a bind since my phone broke so if somebody could walk me through this or even private message me I would really really really appreciate it. 🙏
Get a new number. Wait for phone to unlock after 60 days and use it with T-Mobile

There are some comments that Spectrum will let you have the existing mobile lines even after closing internet service. So technically you may not require internet service.
But this is not confirmed.

Got this today in Charlotte NC in store. They charged the sales tax on $899 which was $94. Still a good deal.
Which store in Charlotte? I was told at the Matthews location that the price is $1,299, and the $400 discount is only available for new customers....

Here right now. But the last checkout screen doesn't show any promotional credits, neither the $700 or $400.
Any advice?

Wow, what a deal. I traded in the Iphone 13 from Metro that I paid $55 for. Iphone 13 was priced at $103.00 cause it was spotless. End total was $189.24+$55=$244.24 out the door with the free Spectrum Mobile line offer that they seem to be offering to me every year. Subtotal was $90.99, E-Waste Recycling Fee was $4.00 and State & Local sales tax was $94.25 if anybody is curious about the breakdown. I heard they offer free Spectrum Mobile line every year when you transfer your number out from my uncle but YMMV. It was available for me as well after I transferred the number out last month. I went to the Simi Valley, CA location and they were legit and gave me no issues the same like last year when I went. That testing app they have to do though is so dumb and frustrating, they were showing me what dumb tests they had to do. Just make sure to be clear what you want and make sure to tell them you want to pay in full. The guy was telling me each test that fails seems to makes it lose like 10-20% of the value that is stated when you initially try to trade-in online. He told me a phone he was testing that traded in for $245 kept failing a test, and the price was dropped to about $200. I'm gonna see about getting an extra S26+ for spare/trade-in in the future next week. Good luck to the rest of you and hopefully it isn't ending on the 21st like listed online on the promo.

Doesn't make a difference. You can chat/call as soon as the credit puts your balance into the negative.

Went to Spectrum store today and got the $400 promo + $700 bonus trade-in value + $18 for trade-in (Galaxy note 10+ 5G), and 12 month free mobile plan. Ended up with paying $237.19 out of pocket. I got the same deal last year for s25 ultra from Spectrum and canceled the mobile service 2 weeks ago. Also, I asked them if they could lower my internet bill with reduced internet speed and the manager at the store simply gave me discount for current internet plan (1Gig) so my internet bill is about $50 which was $90. Thanks OP.

That's crazy, they were charging me $80 after the "deal" ended, subtracted like $19bucks or something I think for CA wildfire discount and then last week I got them to reduce it to $31.25 I believe for a 500Mbps. Wonder if I can get the same deal as you for 1Gig.

i have one question and that is anyone cancelled the internet service and kept the mobile service and had no trouble with the unlocking after 61 days?
also I wanted to add to the group to see what i did.
didn't have spectrum internet.
1.went to spectrum store. told them i wanted to open up a new internet so i can get the mobile service.
2. trade in your old phone (go through series of tests) and purchase the phone at full value - trade in value
3. sign up for mobile service (get 1 year free if you are getting a new line)
4. you can cancel the internet after a month but you have to pay 10 dollars per month for mobile service if you cancel the internet service.
I am up to this part now i play the waiting game.
from now on is what i read from this and previous deal page
5. wait for email from Assurant that your trade in has been accepted and 700 + whatever value of your phone has been deposited to your account as credit (i read usually two weeks but please comment on how long it took you)
6. call customer service at (833) 224-6603 and ask for that credit as a refund to cc or debit card.
7. wait 61 days and unlock your phone and cancel mobile service.

I pay $30/mo for the 500Mbps tier. I think 1G was $40 but with upload speeds being not much higher, it didn't seem necessary. I cancelled Spectrum for a bit and signed up again with one of those door to door guys who can offer better deals. My price is locked in for 2 years. He really did push the free mobile line but I declined - maybe I'll activate one for an iPhone deal in the future.

I did do an S26+ trade in deal on a family member's Spectrum account though since it already has a free mobile line that's just sitting.
