This is a great deal and a great book. You need it in your library if you want to BBQ the right way.

I have this book. While Aaron Franklin is a legend and his story is interesting, there were only three recipes in this 10 year old book that I wanted to try and all three recipes are available online and for free. Aaron exclusively uses large log smokers in his restaurant. I also have a log smoker and honestly the BBQ taste difference between a log smoker and something like a Pit Barrel Cooker or a Weber Smokey Mountain is not as great as you might imagine - with vastly less work. If you are a purist and love his story, jump in. If you are looking for great recipes, maybe look elsewhere

Your best book is "Smoke and Spice" by the Jamisons, not this one
