I have one of these in open position ready to go for one hand use hanging from my fishing vest. Best tool I found for clipping line and its stainless steel!

Is there anything special about this versus other inexpensive ones?

Anecdotally, the Revlon clippers I've bought on two occasions while traveling each outlasted the more expensive clippers I bought from Amazon that were supposed to be some super-hard ultra durable steel. Those were sharper initially but did not hold an edge nearly as long as either "emergency" pair of Revlon clippers.

My grandfather always had nail clippers in his tackle box, attached to a large float.
