First time I've ever used the settings that make it impossible for you to die, and it was due to the amount of random battles (and RNG that would often wipe your party and waste the time you spent grinding), along with the fact that you must overlevel to progress in this game; it's a slow slog of unfun content. Now the story was great, which is what kept me going.
