What are the terms to receive a discount on a phone?
To qualify for a phone discount, you must purchase a phone with a new line of service on an eligible plan, port your number to PureTalk, stay enrolled in AutoPay, and remain on an eligible plan for 36 months. Additional terms may apply.

If you pay in full, the phone is yours. You don't need to stay on for 36 months. That is only if you Finance it for that term.

I just spoke with their customer care, and they said that if you cancel, they will charge the card again for the $300 upfront discount. It also clearly states on the instant discount page that you can leave anytime, but if you don't keep the service for 36 months, you have to pay back the $300 discount. When you enter your address, there is a page that clearly explains this as well.

Even if you pay upfront, you still pay around $300 + taxes + one month plan cost upfront. If you cancel after one month, they charge back the $300 instant rebate.
