Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date.
In summary, same device available via:
Metro for $65 ... auto unlocks in 365 days, continuing the service after 1st month/initial payment not required
Total Wireless for $40 ... will never unlock unless paid for 1 whole year of service (which is not worth - better use case is to use it as wifi only or cheaper service via rebranding to tracfone etc, ymmv)

I tried with 2 email addresses with the same physical address. 1 email address had prior TW service, the other did not. Tried 3 different cards --- 2 debit, 1 CC, payment always fails.

1 order has shipped the next day, and the email comes within 2 minutes after the order. 1 order failed even pass that decision maker, and has already taken payment, the email never came, and the tracking order # is showing an error message.

Spectrum would've paid you $700 for this phone lol. I bought a moto G for 29.99 and they gave me $700 towards an s26 ultra that is sitting on my desk now.

Purchased a Tracfone phone from QVC and I activated the 1 yr plan with Tracfone... if I transfer that number to another provider, before the 365 days is up; will the phone still auto-unlock after 365? Or will the transfer of the number do something in their system such that it no longer triggers the auto- unlock?
