One of the previous threads suggests a reset/recalibration. Will update here if I can find it.

** Probably also in the manual [rackcdn.com], too.

It said to hold down on the +/- button for 5s to reset the meter.
To calibrate a Ryobi inflator, hold the + and - buttons at the same time while the inflator is off and not connected to a tire until the display shows all zeros, or for some models, hold the Power and Start buttons for a few seconds to "tare" the pressure. This process resets the zero point of the gauge and is especially useful if the inflator is showing a pressure reading while not in use. Little trick for this unit
I've had this for about a year and a half, used it on keeping personal vehicle tires aired up and for my mobile auto detailing business so, hundreds of times. However, as good as it is, the auto PSI inflation stopped working and now only works to inflation if you hold the start button. Amazing product but it does meet its limits relatively quickly. If anyone else has the same issue just remember you can manually inflate but holding the start button.

EDIT: I found a fix! Back to 100% recommend. If yours ever does this, with the power on, hold minus and plus until the numbers flash which resets or tares it back to 0. Now the auto inflate to set PSI works again.

It is a nice little tool. You can see the the current tire pressure and it was able to inflate my tires less than a minute about 2 psi (Not like completely empty tire say from 33 to 35).

This one is great it has an on off switch and you can set the PSI level and it will auto stop. I had the other one where you had to hold the trigger and it wasn't good. Just be aware if you need to pump from like 65 to 80psi it does take a bit.

My inflator died on my ryobi inflator / deflator so I picked one of these up last month for $40. Works surprisingly well and has the clamp on vs the annoying screw on valve on my bigger unit.

This was $17! On Black Friday.
It works well. Easy to operate.
Can set the PSI to your liking.
Stop when PSI meets your requirements.

These work well while showing the tire pressure preset. I got mine for about $20 within the last 12 months.

Avoid knock offs if you care about not starting fires. Wait for battery+tool sales and get your battery.

I own this and use it tons. Pumps up atv and bike tires fast. A 35 inch tire on my truck was 10 to 15 mins from flat. I carry it in my truck and atvs. It has saved many other people I have come across with a flat. I don't own ryobi batteries so I purchased an adapter for my ridgid batteries to fit. I think it was 25 at depot when it came out.
