One of the previous threads suggests a reset/recalibration. Will update here if I can find it.

** Probably also in the manual [rackcdn.com], too. [Yep, page 6]
  • It said to hold down on the +/- button for 5s to reset the meter.
  • To calibrate a Ryobi inflator, hold the + and - buttons at the same time while the inflator is off and not connected to a tire until the display shows all zeros, or for some models, hold the Power and Start buttons for a few seconds to "tare" the pressure. This process resets the zero point of the gauge and is especially useful if the inflator is showing a pressure reading while not in use. Little trick for this unit
  • I've had this for about a year and a half, used it on keeping personal vehicle tires aired up and for my mobile auto detailing business so, hundreds of times. However, as good as it is, the auto PSI inflation stopped working and now only works to inflation if you hold the start button. Amazing product but it does meet its limits relatively quickly. If anyone else has the same issue just remember you can manually inflate but holding the start button.

EDIT: I found a fix! Back to 100% recommend. If yours ever does this, with the power on, hold minus and plus until the numbers flash which resets or tares it back to 0. Now the auto inflate to set PSI works again.

Just got this last week. It is a beast. The fact you can preset the psi and just press the button and let it do is job is awesome versus precious versions. Worth the $30

How does this compare to the trigger style inflator besides preset psi?

These are a great pump when they work. Mine only lasted two years though before the pump wore out and it wouldn't build any pressure. Would still buy it again, but am slightly disappointed it didn't last longer when the 16 year old 12v Slime car pump I got from walmart won't seem to die.
