** Probably also in the manual [rackcdn.com], too.
It said to hold down on the +/- button for 5s to reset the meter.
To calibrate a Ryobi inflator, hold the + and - buttons at the same time while the inflator is off and not connected to a tire until the display shows all zeros, or for some models, hold the Power and Start buttons for a few seconds to "tare" the pressure. This process resets the zero point of the gauge and is especially useful if the inflator is showing a pressure reading while not in use. Little trick for this unit
I've had this for about a year and a half, used it on keeping personal vehicle tires aired up and for my mobile auto detailing business so, hundreds of times. However, as good as it is, the auto PSI inflation stopped working and now only works to inflation if you hold the start button. Amazing product but it does meet its limits relatively quickly. If anyone else has the same issue just remember you can manually inflate but holding the start button.
EDIT: I found a fix! Back to 100% recommend. If yours ever does this, with the power on, hold minus and plus until the numbers flash which resets or tares it back to 0. Now the auto inflate to set PSI works again.

This Ryobi cordless inflator stands out for quick, preset tire inflation and easy one button use. It shows current pressure, auto stops at the target PSI, and the clamp on valve connection is more convenient than a screw on chuck. It handles top offs and emergency use well, including car, truck, ATV, and bike tires, though larger jumps and very flat tires take longer. A few reports note calibration drift or pump wear over time, so it is a handy garage and vehicle tool with some durability caveats.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It has an on/off switch, lets you set the target PSI, and stops automatically when that pressure is reached. That makes it easier to top off tires without holding the trigger the whole time.
It can top off a normal car tire by about 2 psi in under a minute, but larger jumps take longer. A 35-inch truck tire reportedly took about 10 to 15 minutes from flat, so it is better for inflation and top-offs than for fully empty tires.
Yes. The display shows the current tire pressure and the preset target, so you can watch the reading as it fills. That makes it useful for setting an exact PSI instead of guessing.
Yes. Holding the + and - buttons together with the tool off and not connected can reset or tare the gauge back to zero; some models use Power and Start instead. That can fix cases where it shows pressure even when nothing is connected.
It can work with a battery adapter, including Ridgid-battery adapters. That makes it usable if you already own another battery platform and do not want to buy a Ryobi battery right away.
