I really don't see the point of the Air since it's so limited in capability thanks to the OS. If you want an entertainment device might as well just get a base iPad for half the price. It's not like the M chip is doing anything substantial to warrant upgrading it.

i mean yeah, if you're just watching Netflix, get an a16. But if you're doing anything that even somewhat takes more power, you're better off with an air. It has more ram, better gpu with raytracing, better cpu, etc. You're also underselling the OS itself, and you can do plenty of things like music production and video editing that would be better suited to an air.

It is worth noting that Costco has this on sale for $510 + $5 shipping.

Edit: Costco is 128 gb version. This deal is better
