This Pixel 10 upgrade promo is mainly a targeted T Mobile trade in deal that can make the phone, and sometimes Pixel Buds 2a, nearly free on qualifying lines. Costco ordering can waive the $35 connection fee and add a $100 shop card, while T Life often shows the offer when the website does not. The catch is that eligibility is picky, with some legacy, free, prepaid, or Advantage lines not qualifying, and the trade in tool may reject certain phones despite the any condition wording. Early payoff can forfeit remaining credits, so the best value comes from keeping the line active through the full credit period.

Common Questions (5)

  • Start the upgrade through the Costco T-Mobile link, and many users had to add the phone in T-Life first, then finish checkout through Costco for the waiver and shop card to appear. The Costco rebate is typically automatic and can show up later in the promotions/rebate portal rather than immediately at checkout.

  • No. The promo is targeted, and the account must show the offer in T-Life or checkout; some plans only see smaller $250/$500 offers or no offer at all. The trade-in also has to be an eligible model in the promo list, even though the wording says any condition.

  • Yes, if the account is targeted and the phone is on the eligible list, broken phones and phones that do not power on can qualify as long as the IMEI is available. Some very old models or non-listed models still get rejected, so the trade-in tool's result matters.

  • Yes. Paying off the device early forfeits the remaining promo credits, so the full discount only comes from keeping the phone on the EIP for the full 24 months. T-Mobile also requires a waiting period before unlocking after payoff.

  • If the promo is applied through self-serve checkout and no plan-change prompt appears, the plan stays the same. Some accounts, especially older or free-line setups, were told they needed a qualifying plan or saw only smaller offers, so the checkout flow is the best check.

Has anyone had touch issue with pixel 10? I have to tap multiple times at the trip 1/8 and bottom 1/8th of the screen.
Yes especially around the fingerprint area, HOWEVER I've found that was due to the screen protector. I've been through 3 different brands and types and found the differences really affected the screens response & sensitivity , one even wouldn't let my finger print work at all.

I have this deal on my wife's line. Is there anything stopping me from using her line to take advantage of the upgrade but activating it on my line?

You can do that. Any Tmobile locked phone can be used by any Tmobile postpaid line from any account. The phone and EIP would be attached to yours wife's line but you can very well use it with your line

Anybody get this to apply to a Simple Choice Value plan?
Narp. I never get any deals for Simple Choice anymore. Good news is the plan is cheap.

It worked for one line out of four on Magenta Amplified 1.0 plan. I had to go through 4 different old phones in my drawer to find the one that triggers full price discount. Surprisingly, I had two phones priced equally for a trade-in ($15), but only one of those qualified.

See my above comment."To qualify for the damaged device promotion, it must have been active with T-Mobile for at least 60 days in the past year.
While that sounds concerning at face value I could not find that language in any of the terms for R659 specifically in my TLife app anywhere during the order process. I have a pixel 10 arriving today on trade for a 3GS that hasn't been on the account in more than a decade, and one tomorrow for an s6 edge that might have been connected for a while 2 or 3 years ago. I am encouraged by the fact that I get blocked with a '6months on the account' message about the phone when I enter the IMEI in some cases but not in others. So they have the ability to detect and block by IMEI at time of order. Since they approved my promo based on IMEI, and we have data points about this from the February promo, I am proceeding with tepid confidence that it will be accepted. I do plan to return my trade ins immediately in case I have to return the Pixels at the last minute, but I honestly don't think that is going to happen

It does not transfer automatically but you can do it during the phone setup. Unfortunately the US pixel 10 is eSim only so if you're on physical Sim then activating the eSim will invalidate your physical Sim permanently

The thread wiki has 2 different ways SDers ordered from Costco link even when the promo isn't showing up.According to this reddit post [reddit.com], the 60 day rule has been in place since at least 8 months now. However, my and other SDers broken trade-ins in the previous Pixel deal (link in the OP) have never been on T-mobile. Mine was purchased broken for $10 - $20, still locked to Verizon. Got all my promos for 3 months now. If T-mobile had declined my promos, I would have just returned the pixels with my Costco 90 day return policy.
Thanks. I was able to get it to work adding to cart in T-Life first, then checking out with Costco link.

This won't be replacing my pixel 9 Pro XL 256 GB.
But for a free pixel 10 and 2A buds, for trading in an old iPhone 6, I couldn't pass it up.

Sprint One military plan with 5 lines, one of them free, and Rely Home Internet for less than $140/month, so I'm not switching carriers anytime soon.

Not to TMo as it will still be under an installment plan.
