This Pixel 10 upgrade promo is mainly a targeted T Mobile trade in deal that can make the phone, and sometimes Pixel Buds 2a, nearly free on qualifying lines. Costco ordering can waive the $35 connection fee and add a $100 shop card, while T Life often shows the offer when the website does not. The catch is that eligibility is picky, with some legacy, free, prepaid, or Advantage lines not qualifying, and the trade in tool may reject certain phones despite the any condition wording. Early payoff can forfeit remaining credits, so the best value comes from keeping the line active through the full credit period.

  • Costco members can waive the $35 device connection fee by starting the upgrade through the Costco T-Mobile flow.

  • The promo can apply to broken or non-powering trade-in devices as long as the IMEI is available for acceptance.

  • The T-Life upgrade flow can reveal the Pixel 10 promo value before checkout, helping confirm eligibility for the account.

  • Costco ordering can provide a 90-day return window, giving time to verify whether the credits and promo stick.

I heard that credit will be removed when you paid off early now
That's what I'm saying. If you pay off the device early, the bill credits stop. That has always been how it works; you only get the full discount if you don't pay it off early.

if the actual trade in device has an IMEI different from that in the upgrade order but the phone model stays the same, can it be submitted in a corporate store?

That didn't actually start with T-Mobile until July of 2024.

And it is because people were getting free devices on a promo, paying it off and selling the device while still receiving credits. Since they allowed you to do this with multiple devices, there were people that had a negative Bill from all the promo credits.

So because of this they take away credits if you pay it off, which ruined it for everyone else that just wanted to unlock their device to use an additional Sim.

Ordered through Costco. Received the trade in kit (envelope + UPS label). Is this the best way to send back the trade in device or should I take to tmo corp store?

I would try at a Tmobile corp store...
here is my experience though. I did the NXTPAPER Tmobile deal. I took my trade in to a corp store but the rep was a bit worried since it was 'any condition'

he told me to ship it out to ensure that I would get the credit.
I shipped it out and the warehouse just received the package on Friday. Hopefully everything goes well.

oh yea, get a receipt from the corp store

I got a text from T-Mobile Thursday that they had processed my trade in, and I had satisfied the trade in requirements.

Thankfully. Last time I mailed a trade in, they claimed they didn't receive it and it took months to get fixed, even with UPS delivery proof.

Got the confirmation text that my iPhone 3g satisfied the requirement for trade-in. In case anyone is worried about the "phone must be active on the account within the last year" language some have reported in this thread: The iphone in question had been in a drawer unused for a decade and doesn't power up. Also FWIW I couldn't find that language in any of the terms for this promo, although I did see a warning about it during checkout in some cases but not others. My conclusion based on my own observations and experience is it's true that is a condition for some promos, but not this one

I am frustrated I missed this. I was going to get it but procrastinated wanting to make a trip to Sam's Club to save the $35 activation fee. Maybe they'll do it again once the 11s come out

Had the phone for a week now, love it. Much better than my pixel 8a I traded in.

It's because they don't make any extra commission processing a trade in.
They would rather try to make a sell or do nothing at all.
Fortunately, my local Corporate store has always helped me doing trade ins, just make sure you get a receipt with deferred trade-in accepted listed.
I mailed this one since it was an any condition trade in, less risk.

The screenshot I posted Was from this promo during checkout. For damaged devices only.
Thankfully they don't enforce it, as my iphone 6 had never been on T-Mobile.
Mine was not damaged though, even though I checked water damage, because I wasn't sure.

If you want to keep using physical SIM, don't upgrade to pixel 10.
If you want to keep using your many old (non-Qi2) wireless chargers in the household and car, don't upgrade to pixel 10.
