Can those who created 2nd account under your Xfinity ID educate me: do you need to manually switch your existing Xfinity Mobile lines to the new account or the transfer will happen automatically when the old account was cancelled?

As you know, Xfinity mobile charges extra if it doesn't detect you have home internet business at the same time. I did the trick and currently (no surprise) my Xfinity mobile lines are still with the old one. I received the new modem but haven't activated it yet. Plan to activate on 6/1.
Let me reply myself since I did this.
1. activate new modem takes 5min-ish as the instruction said.
2. returned the modem of old account to the store and request cancel (maybe it would be closed anyway, but better explicitly request so. Receive a equipment return recipe, no account closure indication.
3. led to a remote meeting desk (yes, in a Xfinity store) and did the xfinity mobile line transfers. The CSR on the other end just asked my new and old home internet account, no need for Xfinity mobile account or line numbers.
4. check on app, all the lines have shown up on the new accat now and dissappearred from the old one. No indication the old account is closing.

BTW, per my first bill, the 5-year guaranteed discount started on the day when we placed online order, not up to the day when you activated the new account internet service. So no value to keep waiting.

I cancelled my regular Xfinity internet ($57/mo) and signed up for Xfinity NOW Internet last week. The NOW Internet modem arrived overnight. Cost is only $30/month, so saving about $27/month. Now that I have the NOW Internet service, I can't even tell a difference compared to the regular Xfinity service. I am pegging out my old wireless router speed, getting 95-110+ Mbps download and 15-25 Mbps upload.
Same here. I've had NOW service for well over a year and I cannot tell a difference in my use case. We're a steaming household with a family of 5 and nobody's complained or said a word since switching. I really enjoy the flat $30/month, unlimited data, and no contract.

At $30/mo, the NOW service makes this Xfinity deal not worthwhile.

Walked in gave them my modem and said I want to cancel. They scanned the modem. Done.
Gave them new name, new email, same address. They gave me the XB8. Took 15m. $40 plan. Speed test 350D/150U. No one at home even notice.
This comes with the equivalent of the old Xfi Compete package so you do get faster upload speed. I used to switch names every year. 5yr is less hassle. The XB8 has faster 2.5G ethernet ports compare to my old modem so that's cool.

Shame, when I called them 2 months ago telling them At&t fiber was offering me this same $50 price for 1gb speed they refused to price match. I dropped them after 9 yrs. So now I'm paying lower for my Internet with at&t fiber and the one thing people should know that they don't always tell you is that the 1gb speed on Xfinity is for downloads only, their uploads are usually 1/5th or 1/3rd the speed if you're lucky. With at&t fiber you have consistent 1gb download AND upload speeds. So for those who upload a lot of videos or social media this works great. Also great for gamers. Just food for thought

I closed an existing account and opened a new one under this deal a few months ago. Note that the 1-year mobile service does not work with all unlocked phones. I entered the IMEI of an unlocked phone which works fine on Verizon networks but the system said it was not supported, without rhyme or reason.

I had to do something similar but in reverse. In my case, AT&T refused to price match and because my bill was in $65 territory i switched to xfinity, mainly for lower price but also for 5 years same price commitment. ATT liked to bump my price every year. But you are absolutely right about much slower uploads, i knew that coming and was ok with that but its a big difference to consider.

I just did this with a Hitron Coda56. I went through the activation process with this modem while it was active on my old account. It worked fine. What didn't work fine was cancelling the old account. I mentioned upthread that I called them to cancel, which apparently never went through. I needed to go to Reddit and ask support there to do it. It took over an hour messaging them but it finally went through, and I see in the billing section of the account that it's in disconnected status.FWIW I selected "create an additional account" at sign-up rather than select the moving option, since I figured the system wouldn't let me move to the same address.
Did you try login to the existing account at the checkout step?

I want to understand if it's any better than creating a new account.
