I imagine it would be tricky and messy to keep dirt in these things.

Seem you still have to buy another pot to go inside, so it's double, the one inside doesn't have to be as fancy but you probably can't leave the thin ugly dirty plastic your plant came in from Home Depot, so it's another expense to buy a basic planter. This looks nice at a glance, but you also have to do a balancing act and buy a saucer to catch overflow water/dirt especially if rain gets to these.

I just bought 3 huge resin pots from Costco for $16 each, Home Depot, Home Sense, At Home and other places were asking for $40-$50 for similar type of pots.

Yeah it seems like a lot of work with double pot, I wouldn't do it unless you already have an inner pot that works

I have a bunch of plants in these old, ugly, dirty pots, I was considering buying these to hide the ugly pots but you're right about the saucers, I hadn't thought about that.
