More than a few reviews talk about tearing zippers.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank cheapodeal

More people should buy this. Then return when zipper is broken.
That will teach lesson to Costco about not ruining their reputation of carrying quality products.

I agree but it's a hassle if zipper gets ripped during journey. Who would want to take that risk? I agree with your point that Costco should vet these vendors thoroughly to ensure good quality products.

If you trust the online reviews, then this may still be a better deal (three pieces for $78):

I experienced a broken zipper on a Travel Pro I got through Costco. It was a $500 bag and zipper broke on first trip. Wedding for my daughter over seas no less. Costco gave refund in that bag and due to poor CS from Travel Pro I decided to return the other bag as well. And Costco got some feedback from me about Travel Pro that they need to monitor this relationship they have with them.

I travel a lot. I own Briggs and Riley, Travelpro and Tumi. The best bang for the buck for quality is Travelpro Platinum Elite. Briggs and Riley supposedly has lifetime repair, but their repair services is frankly mediocre at best. When the luggage works, its great, when it doesnt, they cant fix it. My spinner doesnt roll straight and I am now trying to fix it myself. Tumi is very durable, better constructed than either of the other 2, but of questionable value. If you travel a lot, you want to get one of these. For the Costco sale of these items, they are for very light and occassional use only. I picked up a set from Costco for my kids when they went to school and so far so good, Costco used to sell Kirkland branded and that luggage was great value and excellent quality.

This is exactly why i don't feel bad about returning things. They need to learn to not carry things they can't stand behind. A lot of the reason I buy things from Costco is because I trust they are selling 'good stuff' and not cheap junk like you get elsewhere.
