No, it's more like washing soda, use to help boost your detergent especially if you have hard water. I usually combine 2 part of this with 1 part of oxi clean when I do my laundry in additional to the usual amount of detergent.

Is my math wrong, or does this deal for a massive tub that will do 800 loads of laundry and clog up my laundry room for over 2 years, costs $69.99, so that's a shade over 8 cents a load - but I can get a 55 ounce box on amazon delivered next day for $5.38 which should do 110 loads and cost under 5 cents a load?

This isn't exactly a fair comparison, as Nellie contains more ingredients making it a complete laundry detergent. Washing soda is used to add to laundry detergent to boost its strength.

Sodium percarbonate is the best for laundry. I buy it by the 5 and 10 lb tub.. as good as OxiClean probably and way cheaper better

You are wrong. Washing soda is a detergent all on its own.

By mixing those 3 products, you are essentially doubling up detergents.

Nellie's calls itself a soda but It's a detergent.

Not true. Even though Nellie's calls it "Laundry Soda", it's actually a full on detergent. It contains four ingredients: sodium carbonate (washing soda), linear alcohol ethoxylate (surfactant), sodium chloride (salt), and sodium metasilicate. Because of the lack of artificial scents and other added cleaning ingredients, it's essentially an extremely concentrated, minimalist detergent. It won't work as well on stains, grease, etc as something like Tide or Persil, but it also won't lead to as much buildup or cause skin irritation in those with allergies, eczema, etc. For that reason it's popular for health-conscious parents and for washing cloth diapers, etc.
