Looking for something to replace an electric smoker and charcoal grill. I was tempted to go for this but the recent reviews are disastrous.

They don't make them like they used to. I bought this after getting rid of my old one after moving. The hinges bent and there wasn't a tight fit. Luckily Traeger customer service is top notch. They did send out a replacement but after a year of use, the lid is not creating a tight fit. Hopefully others have had better luck with the newer ones.

Traeger was originally made in Oregon I think and then were bought out 2 years ago by a private equity firm and moved production to China.

Traeger was sold in 2006 for 12m. Production moved to China in 2010. It sold to another PE and went public in 2021. Current market cap? 190m ish.
