After the initial purchase, no further service or payment is needed. The phone will unlock after 365 days from the date it was activated.

It's prepaid, don't opt for autopay and that's all. There is nothing to cancel

You can certainly try .. YMMV
In the past, I have been able to do it by making sure I order only one at a time and wait on placing the order for next item until the last one is delivered and activated

For instance, the phone has to be mandatorily the first order, once it's delivered and successfully activated, then you can order the tablet, once that's delivered and activated, then go for the watch. YMMV

You can always use it as a WiFi device, using VoIP services like Google Voice for phone service. For someone who's mostly at home and work, that should be fine. Many cities also have public WiFi when you're outside. We New Yorkers are almost always within walking distance of a LinkNYC WiFi hub.
