just keep in mind, these things tout themselves as "oilless design" like it is a positive feature. when in reality it means you have to manually oil the chain regularly to keep it from wearing out the chain and bar very quickly.

Depending on the diameter of the wood you are cutting, it can take a long time and a lot of battery with a recip saw. This would go through much quicker.

Good price on this if you can get it. I have one, and it's surprisingly useful.

Better than the 6 inch saw that ryobi seems to no longer support.

The big advantage I see on this is the one handed operation it can be used on small branches compare to the recip saw.

I have a both a Ryobi pruning saw and a recip saw, also a Bauer 5" pruning chainsaw. If you have to make many cuts, the pruning chainsaws are way, way faster than a recip saw for large branches, small trees, etc.

avoid trying to use the "tip" of the saw or anything forward.. cut on the sides otherwise you'll get kickback and shitty cutting!

I have both one handed. This chainsaw is much faster. great to break down large branches to go in the landscape trash cart. Also faster to cut down a large bush. The only place where the reciprocating saw is better is roots or near the ground. A chain saw + dirt = worn chain.

I'm assuming you would want much more than a 2 Ah battery for this to function adequately.
