I wonder if this is the typical Lowes old stock or if these are the newer design batteries.

Are 1.7Ah power stack batteries better than 3.5Ah and higher batteries and are they recommended for a 6hr job on circular saw. Impact driver and impact wrench?

Depends on what you are doing during your 6 hour job

A circular saw is gonna drain these in an instant. If you plan on cutting for six hours you're gonna want at least a pair of 5AH or just go corded. They're great for a driver or wrench, but again it all depends on how much work you plan on doing. Some people will use more battery in 30 minutes than others will use in six hours. For example going hog wild with an angle grinder or a chainsaw

30 minutes of work, 5 1/2 hours drinking beer and you'll do just fine in those 6 hours.
You're better off buying 6ah batteries when they go on sale near $10 an ah.
Also recommend a 6 amp charger, so you're not waiting 3 hours for them to recharge.

The battery "badging", should show on the packaging as well. If it has "XR" on the side its newer. If it has "Power Stack" in big letters with the blue lines next to it, its the old versions.

I like these for my power pruners as you're working with the tool arms fully extended so the big batteries weigh you down after a while

I ordered a pack at 8a. at 930a 2pack set delivered to front door.
My package is the Old labeling no XR branding just Power Stack. I had a set from a few years back. No issues. These are fine for drills and other lower power items.

The power powerstack batteries are the newer one (they use cell pouches), and XR are older (they use the traditional cylindrical batteries, like shape of AA)

Edit - looks like I was wrong. Can't keep track of Dewalts branding changes.

I think Loudog504 was right:

https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-20v-x...nges-2026/

"Now, the PowerStack branding is completely gone, with XR branding in an even larger font size."

DeWALT has really changed their labelling on these a lot. For a long while they were PowerStack. Then they shifted to XR and PowerStack both being printed on the battery. Now, on the latest batteries, they will only say XR with the new label.

Also a lot of the tools that used to be labelled XR have now had the XR designation removed. Same tools, just different badging.
