Reminds me of a pocket Bible as far as the thin pages and smaller font, but it is completely legible.
I love the black and white sketches and drawings that are included as well, and I think that the fake leather covers feel and look wonderful, and the jrr tolkein logo etched into the front is a nice touch.
there are also maps and artwork on the inside covers as well.
I have zero complaints unlike most people, but it depends on how good your eyes are I suppose. The font is reasonable size, not super tiny, but the pages are quite thin as you would expect.
