Is this the best Zojirushi? Made in Japan. The one everyone talks about?

Yes it is, although now a days the best ones are the induction models but you can never find them near this price and are usually in the $300 range. This is the best price on Amazon in over a year.

This one has "Made In Japan" printed on the front of the rice cooker, and still has a retractable power cord (seems Zojirushi has moved away from those), awesome!

Gold standard for sure but Zojirushi is one of the few manufacturers that insist on a soldered Lithium Coin Cell battery to keep the time. Not a deal breaker, but just something that wears out after 5-10 years.

It plays a tune when your rice is done cooking.

Had this since around 2020, love it. Makes perfect rice, we prefer brown and it bubbles up a lot so to make bigger batches we recently upgraded to the 10 cup (even though we only cook 5-6 cups of brown rice).

Mine is still going strong since 2013 with weekly usage. The clock battery is dead and takes too much effort to replace. No big deal for me. What matters is the rice. This thing still cooks perfect rice every time.
