Anyone use this before and can compare to the original blade?

I haven't really gotten to use mine much yet, but from what I read compared to the mulching blade which I've been using:
-Better for mulching/mowing in general, even when not used to bag. picks up more and/or clips into smaller bits
-Better results as far as actual grass cutting as it lifts the blades with a bit more "oomph"
-More power draw, as in you'll go through your batteries slightly faster for the same mow job

I wish this fit my 21" Makita. It doesn't.

I use both blades on my EGO+ LM2102SP. The posted blade is basically for bagging. Unless I'm cutting more than 1/3-inch off the blades of grass I'm using the regular mulching blade.

Important Trade-Offs to Consider

Because it creates a massive amount of physical wind resistance beneath the mower deck, there are two distinct trade-offs compared to using the standard AB2100 blade:
  • Reduced Battery Runtime: The electric motor has to work harder against the increased aerodynamic drag to maintain its optimal cutting RPM. Depending on how thick your grass is, using a high-lift blade will typically decrease your overall battery runtime by roughly 10% to 15%.
  • Poor Mulching Performance: This blade is not optimized to circulate clippings under the deck repeatedly. If you attempt to mulch with the rear plug inserted, it can result in heavy grass clumping rather than fine nutrients.
It is great for bagging leaves though.
