This Ryobi clamp fan is a compact, versatile airflow tool that works especially well for strollers, camping chairs, tents, sports fields, and other spots where clipped-on cooling helps. It pushes strong air, runs a long time on 2Ah and 4Ah batteries, and can last all day or even through multi day use. The main drawbacks are its smaller size, bulk for stroller use, and noticeable noise on high. It is a handy pick when targeted cooling matters more than portability or quiet operation.

Common Questions (5)

  • Runtime can be very long: it reportedly lasts all day on a 4Ah battery at high speed, around 35 hours on a 4Ah battery in festival use, and even 3-4 days as a night fan on a 2Ah battery. Actual runtime depends on battery capacity and speed setting.

  • It clamps onto chairs, pop-up tents, golf carts, cots, tables, camping chairs, strollers, and even beds. That makes it useful for sports fields, camping, travel, and other places where you need directed airflow.

  • It pushes strong airflow, but it can be pretty noisy, especially on high. That tradeoff makes it better for worksites, outdoor use, and situations where airflow matters more than quiet operation.

  • It can be a bit bulky for stroller use, and the clamp is less flexible than tripod-style arms. The fan itself still works better and provides stronger airflow.

  • No, it needs a different battery and the Snap battery does not fit this fan. It uses the Ryobi ONE+ 18V battery platform instead.

The last time I went they kinda made it seem like they shouldn't allow these fans in, but they let me in. Did you face any resistance? This was at Disneyland in Anaheim.
Could start a fire while on a ride I guess.

Got one. Sure it's a little bulky, but with 2 speed settings with a switch, depending on your battery capacity it could last all day on high. Had some extra batteries around so made sense.

One of the problems I found with this brand fan is that the motor bearings seem to go bad. You can try to take it apart; it has security screws, but basically, there's nothing you can do to this thing. You can't occasionally oil it.

I purchased one the last time it was in here a lot a month ago and used it at a music festival for 4 days. It worked flawlessly and provided some much needed comfort when sleeping. It lasted probably 35 hours with a 4ah battery and easily worth $20. I'm using it around my house and in my garage to get air exactly where I need it.

Yeah, my new one had scratchy bearings, and replacements were sold out in stores.

Anyone know how the warranty works on these?

Do they all have poor bearings and can't do anything about them?

I also have a Ryobi 18v brushless blower that's developing a scratchy bearing noise.
