First 3 numbers of the model # tells you who built it for Kenmore. 106.xxx is Whirlpool. I think 293.xxx is Frigidaire, etc.

My brother's LG compressor died right after the 3-year mark.

For everyone talking about the linear compressor (and LG's well documented history of issues with same), this fridge does not have LG's linear compressor (pre-2018). Nor does it have LG's redesigned linear compressor (2018+, still had issues). This has an inverter compressor. Check specs at the bottom of the product page under "cooling."

I haven't picked it up yet and can cancel and get a full refund. i think the main difference between mine and this one is the counter depth (the same model for mine that's standard depth was only $200 less) + water/ice supply, but the price difference is $1.5k+

Wow this is insane. I nearly bought the version without the handles the other day since my compressor wasn't starting. Replaced the relay and now it's fine, but this is still very tempting.

That's the way I got access to the Partner store like 6 months ago.

3 OLEDs and a Fridge later, that free Hulu Trial has cost me a bit... but every one was a very slick deal.

I have had hulu included with my cell plan for ages and didn't know I could gain access to the LG partner store with it. Even though I created an account using my GF's EDU credentials, I just created a second one using hulu successfully. I'm good either ways lol

very very tempting...... Thanks for posting. I ordered but canceled after thinking about it a bit. After living with refrigerator that sticks outside the standard cabinet, I just want a counter depth. Hopefully we see one of those deals sometime soon.

Our LG lasted 4 years until the linear compressor failed. LG does not have an actual warranty on it, it comes with $500-600 labor fees. Do not expect any warranty support really, I had an agent yell and hang up on me.

Friends don't let friends buy LG fridges.

More like they charge you $500-600 per repair if there is service in your area. Otherwise you have pay a separate company a few hundred to come look at it and then 400-600 to replace the compressor. In the end it is cheaper and better to just buy a new fridge, so the warranty is a lie.

Ready for the good news? this model has the Smart Inverter Compressor, not the older Linear Compressor that became the subject of a lot of reliability complaints and lawsuits.
