As someone who loves a good deal, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I recently ported out of TW after being on the $15/month plan because the ATROCIOUS customer service and CONSTANT billing issues weren't worth the hassle. 🙃

Don't be surprised if your service gets randomly cut off because of an autopay issue or your $15 bill suddenly becomes $55, etc. Just TAKE A LOOK AT THEIR REDDIT! The company has way too many problems.

Total Wireless is good only if you do not need customer care. If you need customer care, you are doomed. The agents do not understand anything; they are not trained to do even basic stuffs.

Same question...how long does it take to transfer (port in) a number from another carrier and was it a smooth process?

Yeah, that Reddit thread has me thinking twice about porting in my families 4 lines...

I tried to port to them a few weeks ago from US Mobile, they almost lost my number! Be aware! The person on the support seemed so annoyed that lied to me "ya porting is good, just wait 48 hours". I then had no number on my account and you cannot contact support without a number, it's impossible. Eventually someone helped me and said the port failed and she just lied

I have the same experience. Their customer support agents always lie. Not sure if they are trained to lie or TW hires liars only.

My cart says I unlocked the offer: $30 for the first month, then $20/month after with Auto Pay.
However, when I go to checkout, even after checking the Auto Pay box, the order summary still shows:
Total MAX 5G: $55/month

For anyone who successfully got the $20 BYO promotion, did your checkout page actually update to show $30 due for the first month and $20/month afterward before you placed the order?

how does it compare to visible?
I live in cali, I used visible 20 bucks plan for more than 3 year they don't give ultrawide or premium 5g thats the problem because at busy evening it slows down very often but since i switched to total I am getting ultrawide and no slow down in evenings anymore. I travel abroad as well. They give 10gb data while roaming which is perfect man.

this vs the visible deal? can someone please comment
Visible all the way. I've had so many issues with total it's not worth it. I've read about people losing their numbers going to total. Visible is great. They have a nice app and great customer service.

You're going to need customer service for sure because of the issues they constantly have.

Last year I ported over for the free iphone 13 deal and they almost lost my number. Took 10 days calling (spent approximately 8 hours in the phone with support) and complaining to the FCC to get them to finally do it correctly.

When service worked it was fine although hotspot is slowwwwww at 5mbps it's barely serviceable for using Zoom on my work laptop.

Ported to Us Mobile's unlimited premium on Warp and its been amazing. I will gladly pay $5/mo more to never have to deal with Total wireless customer support until the day I die.

Price guaranteed for 5 years.
$20 a month. Is this for real?
It was $50 per month.
I read the fine print. The 5 year price guarantee is for the full price ($30), not for the discounted price ($20).

They are definitely trained. No way every call is consistently miserable, agonizing, and full of lies without training. And in rare cases if you had a pleasant call and they actually did what they promised, congratulations you got a rouge agent not following TW processes.

Just ported into this offer. Really easy and fast. Just entered in my account info and transfer pin, rebooted my phone and Total was activated. Total Wireless offer price has 5 year price guarantee while the Visible offer is for one year only.
