buyer be warned! not a true 5k series imho, severely gimped
only 16mb l3 cache
only pci3.0
no integrated gpu even though this is based on apu architecture
this performs closer to 3k series zen

There's people that will buy this just because of the price and that stuff isn't important for them

for a budget cpu you truly can't get one w a fan at this price

the bottleneck occurs at 1440 and 4k but most people would use at least 2x frame gen for smoother gameplay https://youtu.be/6jG4M4fMlDY

if you're building on am4 the cost savings can be applied towards the other components making this a great option

yeah, though the 1700x is close in multi-core performance within 15% on avg; scroll down to see the benchmark comparison https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/com...en_7_1700x

It's on average 20-40% more powerful in multi core and close to 60% better in single core. It's quite the upgrade.

Yes and for the price and with the way the market is right now and for the price it's hard to beat. It's 20-40% more powerful on multi core and upto 60% more powerful on single core which will be noticeable in basic tasks.

PCI 3.0 only matters if your running something like an rtx 3090 ti or more powerful and nobody in their right mind is paring a 2000$ gpu with a 75$ cpu lol

not a single multi core test in that chart shows a 40% increase... add up all the multi core tests and it's around a 15% average but at the $75 its a compelling upgrade given the huge single core bumps and power saving in addition to the 15% multi core bump.

It's not just an expensive GPU problem - an RTX 5060, for example, has an x8 5.0 bus. So, with this CPU it would only be at 3.0 x8, which will definitely be a bottleneck.
