Solid deal. I have this and the 24" as well. They are workhorses. The battery alone is worth over $100. I work mine hard doing trail clearing in SoCal. I use the 24" most as it's easier to transport and a bit lighter.

Yes I see Ace hardware and Acme both dropped their prices to $209 also, so Amazon had to one up them which is fine with me.

Couldn't resist. We've been using a low power Ryobi one and our shrubs keep growing and the Ryobi is having trouble cutting through things now. Love Ego.

This or greenworks 26" 60v in $100 at Walmart in store. I am in ego envt but getting GW at half the rate and ego 2.5 amp battery will not be that much useful to me

The 26" Ego Hedge Trimmer was a huge improvement over the 24" in almost every way. It gets heavy use on my 1/2 acre property with way too many hedges and bougainvillea, and performs like new after 3 years, only having sharpened the blades for the second time recently. The 24" was a disappointment for me. It was my least favorite Ego tool, and I have quite a few. The 26" is now my favorite, along with the 20" Pole Hedge Trimmer attachment for the multi-tool. Both are well built, powerful, and have greatly exceeded my expectations. For maintenance, aside from sharpening, the only thing I have done with both trimmers (the pole hedge trimmer is now nearly 6 years old) is lubricate the blades before each use with a light machine oil, and grease the gear housing annually. There's a great video on how to do that (even adding grease nipples on the pole attachment to make greasing simple) on a YouTube channel by the name of "1 Green Thumb Gardening". My only departure from his recommendation is that I've been using white lithium grease. Dude does some great videos, and nearly all of his equipment is Ego.
