So, I was looking at my blog, and I don't think there is an RSS feed, and I'm not sure how to add one. I looked at plug-ins, but with my very limited knowledge of technological language...I don't understand. It'd probably help if I knew what an RSS feed is/does, but I've been told I need that. :/

Anyway, I have to go to the grocery store. They've gone through 2 loaves of bread and a gallon of milk in 3 days. Can't wait until school starts. Annoyed

Really Simple Syndication. For your use, basically your fans or whoever would include you in their RSS feed, and then when you made an update (blog post or such) that was RSS-aware, they would automatically see it without having to go to your site.
I haven't actually used it at all, but that's my understanding of how it works.

I think you already have RSS, see those orange icons under "Subscribe To"?

Or was the person talking about you having an RSS feed on your site to display information from other RSS sources?

I had it on the old blog, but I didn't see it on the new one. Could be wrong. It happens a lot.

You really don't need an RSS icon in your sidebar anymore. Major browsers display an RSS logo in the URL address bar automatically now, if the webpage offers feeds. Most people who "know about using RSS" will look in the browser to see if there's a Feed for your site. Those over-sized, gaudy, honking RSS logos in the sidebar are so 2007. It's going out of style.

One more tip, if you want to ADD MORE FEEDS, then put them in your theme's header.php like this:





(I recommend using that whole block of code, it will show-off 3 feeds of RSS2, Atom, and your Comments feed. Read it to see what the 3 lines do, and modify as you wish)

You can even stick Feedburner feeds, RSSmix feeds, Twitter feeds, Podcast feed, etc. into your header like that. Then each reader will get the options of what to subscribe to.
(And you do have the orange RSS icon in the URL bar, I'm using Firefox 3.6)

Fixed it - we can reduce the # of topics that show up on the right. Click the orange box to activate the feed.

Oh..awesome! I wonder how come I don't see it? I can't do anything from the iPad, but I was on the computer earlier and I didn't see it on it either. Maybe because I'm logged in as owner?
