So my boss decided he didn't want to write this network assessment for the very first client I ever visited when I took this job. The place has 18 employees and 19 servers. It's a MESS. The lady who runs their network is crazy paranoid and has different passwords for EVERYTHING, plus WAY more equipment than she needs (not just the whole "more-servers-than-people" bit either) and... well it's a real headache, put it that way.

So the assessment/report/proposal for improvements was due like a month ago but my boss hasn't done it... Friday he told me if I'd write it for him, format it, get it basically ready for him to read and send to the client (so we can get paid and hope to GOD they don't hire us to clean their shit up for them), he'll give me this coming Friday off. Which is doubly-awesome because we are closed the last week of December. So this is essentially a 10th day in front of 9 days off...

So I said sure. Thought I'd do it yesterday but didn't. Thought I'd do it today while watching football but I wound up at a buddy's house instead. SO I just threw together something that looks 1/2-way decent, formatted it all pretty in Word, added some spreadsheets and a table of contents, pulled some reports out of the raw data we pulled off their network, and sent it to my boss. Maybe, 90 minutes' work? Totally expecting it to be rejected and have to work on it a bunch more tomorrow.

Reply from my boss: "Looks great! Let's talk for a few minutes first thing tomorrow but I'm happy."

In all honesty if this was a serious prospect, client-wise, I'd probably have tried harder. But we really don't want anything to do with this lady, and she probably can't afford what it would cost to have us fix her horrendous mess anyhow.

yeah, its getting harder to be non spoilerish laugh out loud

i don't think either appeals to the people or has the time. its like next food network star. the show means a lot more than the winner. seems to show judges really suck Stick Out Tongue
