A Five Guys burger joint just opened today in my area....the first in CA, I believe. I'm dying to go check it out. Maybe this weekend. Is all the hype justified?drool

I thought this was going to be a thread about wiles!
Now why would that get a special thread? That's just her Friday night.... or her Thursday night... or her Wednesday night........

I forgot about this thread, I had my first Five Guys burger a few weeks ago on vacation. I thought it was great and wish we had them here. I hail from the land of In-n-Out and sure miss not having them around. I had been real curious to try this Five Guys that I hear so much about. On our way to the Oregon Coast I found one right on the route there, in West Linn, OR. DH loved it too, and considers it right up there with In-n-Out, though not in direct competition. I forgot to order the fries Cajun, so only tried regular, and they were fine.

I also forgot that the regular burger is a double, so next time I'd order the smaller one. DH ordered bacon on his and after a few BIG bites realized bacon was missing. He took it back and they made him a new burger, so he ate two of those huge double burgers. Just happened to take a pic of the meal too.

Just have to watch out for people with nut allergies since they use peanut oil. Peanut oil gives the fries the amazing flavor.

We've got one of those here. Or maybe it's a Krystal's. I've never gone though. My brother used to get the frozen White Castle burgers they sold at the grocery store and said they weren't bad. I don't know if they still sell them.

Fresh food. They don't freeze the burgers and they cut up the potatoes on site to make the fries. $4-5 burger. $2-3 fry, but the size is huge for the fries. Everything tastes great. But $8 for a burger and fries seems like a lot to this dollar menu guy. I went like 5 times when they first opened 2-3 years ago down here, but I havent gone since, strictly because of the cost.
