When you go to a Chinese restaurant, what do you order?

I am curious. When you fellow SD'ers dine in a Chinese restaurant (no, Panda Express doesn't count!Stick Out Tongue), what do you order? Typical sweet and sour pork, General Tso's Chicken?

I like both. Yeah, the tripe with the brown sauce is more flavorful. The tripe with the lighter ginger/scallion sauce is good though too.

I've never had chicken feet. Don't think I could get past what I'm eating to enjoy it.

I've had tripe, home cooked at my friend's house by her grandma. It was okay, but not something I'd eat regularly or ever order in a restaurant.

Orange chicken. The place I order from makes decent stuff, and gives giant portions. $8 gets me two meals. fark yeah.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Combination Platter, Beef on Sticks, Boneless Spare Ribs, Crab Rangoon, this leaves us with enough for two meals ( but I won't touch those Boneless Spare Ribs - I call them "Pig Ears" - they look Yucky to me - hubby eats them).

i like most of the soups. hot 'n sour and sizzling rice top my list, but sizzling rice really isn't the same if you get it to go.

there's a place a little north of where i live that has the best noodles ever. they hand-pulled and made fresh for every order. noodles, spicy broth, and cut meat/veggies. Smilie

apps: pot sticker (prefer gyoza, but meh), jellyfish (spicy) and egg rolls with lots of the sweet 'n sour sauce. drool

as for dishes, i'll eat just about anything. my fav dishes are beef chow fun, kung pao chicken, and ma po tofu.

Usually orange chicken, sometimes a chow fun. Used to get chicken wing appetizers but the hair/feather membranes sticking out sometimes grossed me out.

oh yeah..you reminded me of the beef noodle soup....that is my #1 choice but they don't (the local chinese takeouts) don't offer them here...i have to go to the city (the real chinese places) to get them. usually look like this...delicious and the meat is very tender.

as for the pot stickers....my mom makes them really good....Big Grin
